Happy Easter everybody! I know right now does not feel like a time to celebrate. A lot of us are scared and that’s okay. Having epilepsy at a time like this is scary. Getting sick could mean a lot of things for us. Whether it be breaking our seizure streak or having our first tonic-conic. Illnesses are really scary. They leave a lot up to chance. The best thing we can do right now is really stay strict to social distancing.
In my house, only my dad leaves for errands and he stays very sanitized. I don’t get to go out of the house, but my mom lets me go for runs if I wear a mask and stay away from others. We try to get out as much as possible. Thing meaning playing in the yard, and having fires on our patio. It’s not ideal, but it’s the best we can do with what we have :).
The moral of this long winded story is, just be safe. Be over protective if you want. It’s better to have a few months of “house jail” than a lifetime scar from a seizure. Memories from a seizure will be with you forever. Please be safe. Don’t take any risks. It’s not worth it, I promise. 💜
